Random acts of kindness are good.
Today is Random Acts of Kindness Day. It’s a wonderful thing. People all over will think about ways to do kind things. We will see people post in social media that someone paid for their coffee. Others will hold doors. Still others will donate to non-profit charities all over.
The challenge I’ve take on (and share with you all) is to make every day a kind day, and to find ways to do acts of kindness as a habit. Random acts are wonderful, and we should all look for ways to do them.
Intentional kindness goes a step further.
To be intentionally kind is to develop a mindset for the goodness of others. It’s thinking not only of yourself, but being open and aware of the way that you interact with other people. Sometimes that may mean buying someone coffee or making a donation, but those are only acts of kindness that you choose. Being intentionally kind transcends the things we do, and becomes how we live and how we do things.
Being kind costs nothing unless you decide to spend money.
True kindness doesn’t come with a price tag. You can be kind without spending a dime. Check out the daily prompts I post for every day of 2020. There are lots of cost-free ways to show kindness in our world. Read the stories on our site that others have shared for more ideas.
Look for the kindness in others. I promise you, it’s there. Every day people seek out ways to be kind. Some have to focus on being kind. Others seem to be kind since birth. Both are wonderful. When you work to have kindness as a mindset, then being kind becomes a natural way of life.
Above all, be kind.
